The Department for Communities is asking for views on a proposed Charities (Amendment) Bill, which is designed to update and strengthen how charities are regulated in Northern Ireland.

The Bill reflects recommendations from the Independent Review of Charity Regulation and is designed to ensure the sector remains well supported, transparent and proportionately regulated. It also addresses some of the practical challenges that have come up since the Charities Act (Northern Ireland) 2008 was introduced.
