Especially for Trustees’ week, this seminar will focus on good governance in voluntary led organisations as well as a reminder of the key regulatory requirements for charities.
The Developing Governance Group will explain how the Code of Good Governance can be used to help board members achieve a greater understanding of what is expected of them in their governance role. They will also demonstrate how the Governance Health Check and DIY Committee Guide can be used to help implement better governance practice in their organisations.
The Charity Commission will present changes that are being made to the annual monitoring return and online registration application as well as giving an overview of where it is at present with regard to its powers and decisions which staff are permitted to make. The Commission will be reminding charities about the requirements to register and report serious incidents to it as well as highlighting what is new on the horizon for charity regulation.
Further similar seminars are being arranged for youth, age, faith, sport and early years organisations in November and December, dates to follow.
The Developing Governance Group and Charity Commission would like to meet you in person at this event but understands that this is not always feasible for everyone so there is the opportunity to attend the event online also.
Please be very clear when you are registering to state whether you want to attend in person or online as lunch is being provided at 1.15 PM and it is important to us that food and money is not wasted.
